Case-1925 Case-1925
After losing more than 120 pounds, this patient was left with significant volume loss and skin laxity of the breasts — a common concern after major weight loss. She underwent a single-stage augmentation mastopexy, allowing both restoration of upper pole fullness and reshaping of the breast in one operation.
Her implants were placed under the muscle in a dual-plane II position, which can provide a more natural transition in the upper breast while preserving soft tissue support. To address excess skin while limiting visible scarring, a vertical J-scar mastopexy was performed.
The J-scar breast lift is often used as an alternative to the traditional inverted-T (anchor) mastopexy, because it can achieve excellent reshaping while reducing the extent of the scar along the lower breast fold in appropriately selected patients.
These postoperative photographs were taken 6 months after surgery. Her results will continue to mature, and her scars are expected to soften and fade further over time.
